In no way for bragging rights but for insight into the differences in the mindsets of the two groups.When I was struggling financially when I was going to college and I had to learn how to live off of $500 - $700 a month, and when my wife and I got married at age 23 and we had to live off 1-2 thousand a month, I looked at people who charged a lot or at items that cost a lot I felt resentment.

You are just buying blind otherwise.Then I would go over each cost item and ask myself why it is that much and if I can cut the amount..I would even go as far as interview renters and find out what their thoughts are about the location and the property.

Real estate 101.Oh, one other remainder item: if there is an unresolvable discrepancy holding up a closing between what the seller says and tenants state, have the title company hold an escrow for double the difference.
