This doesn't seem like a wise decision when I think about it but an older gentleman I work with who has acquired lots of rental properties throughout his life told me he's done that plenty of times years ago and was ok with it because they all went up in value throughout the years and they all ended up being paid off which at that time generated plenty of positive cash flow.

I am planning a move to Boston in the coming months, but I can't see the logic in renting, especially given financing options such as FHA (which I'll be using myself).The Boston RE market is a bit pricier than other areas, but I think there are plenty of less expensive options in the surrounding area.
