FHA 3-4 unit difficulties.
Can anyone name a lender that will allow a 3.5% down FHA on a 3-4 units property?
The last two lenders I've sat down with have given the okay for a 2 unit property, but both state that that I cannot do an FHA for a 3-4 unit. I'm beginning to wonder if this is something that simply varies per lender or if I've missed the golden era of house hacking.

They are lying to you. What they are saying is that their bank wont do it, not that FHA program wont do it. You're likely going to a bigger bank (I had this same issue with "fells wargo"), I simply found another mortgage lender that would do it. Keep looking around, they're out there.
