I have built LEED certified homes for custom clients in the past but not spec.

If you have a large enough pool of captive customers it makes these sorts of businesses great additional opportunities.Another example we have been toying with is a carpet cleaning business.  

Even the custom homes aren't really custom.  

I can't imagine paying 1/2 that for just a sign that goes in the window....Maybe I'm missing something here.Also, with so much success they claim.... and not a single PICTURE of a finished product on their website.  

Now you must decide if you want to file an insurance claim or just come out of pocket.

I've been looking to start a PM business and this might be a good way to grow quickly and have some credibility with potential new customers.

She never got to the point where it was paid off, but she claims it was worth it.

If for a example there were unpaid taxes, unreleased liens against the property or problems with the legal description of title, this will ensure protection for any claims or legal fees that arise should you run into these problems.

If she died within the last 2 years claims can be made against the estate.
