appetite for riskYou can absolutely get a job in RE but keep in mind that it is a cyclic industry where you have to be entrepreneurial to survive downturns, especially times like now when a lot of RE firms are 'trimming the fat' (true in general but even more so in RE)If you're dead set on a W-2 in RE with a good (it's relative, compared to tech, W-2's in RE aren't nearly as exciting) salary and stable, try looking at working for a developer maybe as an analyst.

For the purposes of this section, sell includes the transfer of title by operation of law;(iii) Provide the mortgagee with a deed in lieu of foreclosure;(iv) Correct the condition which resulted in the mortgage coming due and payable for reasons other than the death of the last surviving borrower;(v) For an Eligible Non-Borrowing Spouse, correct the condition which resulted in an end to the Deferral Period in accordance with § 206.57; or(vi) Such other actions as permitted by the Commissioner through notice.(3) For a borrower, even after a foreclosure proceeding is begun, the mortgagee shall permit the borrower to correct the condition which resulted in the mortgage coming due and payable and to reinstate the mortgage, and the mortgage insurance shall continue in effect.

You could pass on cost of supplies for restoring if you feel strongly about it but I doubt your $60 a draw would survive if she took it to court so I would not push that too much.

I have talked to a number of folks that are over leveraged and will not be able to survive a 10% drop.Agree with what @John Underwood said "If you have the right properties where people want to go and spend vacation with their families and you ran the numbers correctly in the beginning you'll be fine."
