Instead, has a composting toilet ( I know it sounds weird but it really doesn't leave any smell in the bathroom at all, probably less than a normal toilet).

So he gives me this 1/2 hour sales pitch , and wraps it up with a quote of $ 3500 to line my tub with a plastic liner , " And we can be done in less than 4 hours" Told the guy he was nuts , we are done , leave . then i had a guy reglaze the tub for $ 350 and it is just in the last year showing signs of wear after 2 boys 9 and 12 played with toys in that tub for 10 years .for $ 3500 i would have gutted the entire bathroom tub, toilet , vanity , floor and walls and went all new .

This does not mean you must know how to swing a hammer or fix a toilet, just know how much the toilet costs and how much the cost is to install it.To get that info, create a punch sheet of common repairs (paint, interior doors, tile, carpet, toilets, bathroom vanities, windows, closet doors, light fixtures, etc.), go to HD or Lowes and price them out.

(fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave)We have purchased all new doors for interior, 13@ $500.We will install 4 new windows ourselves, others in house are new.We still need to get estimates on kitchen counter and cabinets (can't get done until after demo) need to purchase 2 new toilets, new bathroom sink, interior paint, many misc. things such as ceiling fans, light switches, ect....How are we doing so far?

He puts in high efficiency toilets, new shower heats and makes sure that all faucets have low flow nozzles.It made sense to me when he explained everything.

The median housing prices on that track are 165k+ but I know that doesn't necessarily mean squat but just thought I would mention.Partner is very trustworthy as I have a longstanding relationship with him and I just need some guidance if there is any other information I am missing and need to obtain or if everything seems to be in order.PS The short sale cost was thru a Realtor and the mortgage on the loan will run about $1000/month.Any words of encouragement, skepticism, or help would be appreciated.

It needs appliances and a lot of cosmetic work...other than that I don't squat about estimating repair costs.
