Safety, parking, walkability, and proximity to campus are important factors that come to mind.

I recently found a very good foreclosure on Homepath.com, submitted an offer which was accepted, did home inspection, and then found out that no title insurance company is willing to insure this property because all foreclosures in Massachusetts are pretty much void because they did not comply with the correct notices for one reason or another, and also foreclosing banks often did not even have the papers showing they have the right to foreclose in the first place (they lied about it in court to get through this routinely, but eventually judges stopped letting them do this).

Use the credit card for routine purchases and pay the balance at the end of the month.

You may also want to view some mobile homes in communities around the area to see what sellers and/or parks are doing in their own units when their homes are put on the market. 

Similar to the older properties in Hyde Park, Pullman provides an architectural landscape that provides desirable, historic inventory, all while easy Metra access to downtown.

I also renovated the entire exterior of the building (new parking lot, landscaping, paint, shutters, hardscaping etc) and rehabbed all but 1 unit so far. 

Here in Columbus there is a odd little street called "Bide A Wee Park Ave" .. shows up on crime reports and foreclosure lists relatively frequently

You need to stay where people think its cool and are bringing the neighborhoods back (Huntridge, John S Park, Westleigh, Beverly Green, some parts of Paradise Palms...).

I have 21 parking spaces for a small office building 2700 sq ft that I lease the therapists.
