Before I pose my question, let me start off by saying that I completely understand every RE deal/strategy is different and each comes with its own pros/cons, as well as your own personal goals/desires, etc, etc, etc.So in a very generalized sense, if a would-be real estate investor has the option to start investing in SF/small MF RE, or being a passive investor in a larger syndication deal... which one typically is better (ie better returns on your investment)?

Luckily I don’t need the income from the rental properties to live off of yet so what I’ve been doing is channeling all the funds after PITI and management (and charged maintenance for that month) into separate accounts for each property.

I have around 10 years left in military before I intend to hang up the hat, so our goal is to replace my income before I retire (but hopefully we can do a lot more than that.)I look forward to being more active on here, and hopefully meeting some fellow investors near Fayetteville!
