I am from the Muskegon/Grand Rapids, Michigan area and have contradicting feelings about whether it is a good idea to begin investing here (MI) despite needing to move closer to the ocean (FL) or waiting to begin until we decide where to move.

Add that all up and you own for under a grand a month perhaps.

Most Landlord attorneys in Los Angeles regarding these situations have No idea what this Grand theft aspect does to Landlords, have no empathy and are just out to make a buck.

No one talks about alternatives, but he also owns land on the other side of downtown so could happen in West Dallas or Trinity Groves area perhaps....or maybe Grand Prairie or somewhere along Irving Blvd.I would also think if you work at the VA or maybe in the VA HR department or one of the other hospitals, so have an ear to the ground about new staff, or long term care patients, then you might have an inside track and could do something MTR around the VA hospital. 

The downsides are it takes time to learn that much about construction, the take-off programs are kinda pricy (a few grand a year) and there is a learning curve to these products.
