I would start a new threadit is so convoluted I don’t think you are getting good advice because people think different thingsbut to me if I get 50% of profits and the property is in your name  for just for purchasing the property sign me upYou said the contractor is experienced and very good at what they do I would be very suspicious of why they don’t have the money to do it on their ownthe one thing I would NOT do is pay for their time and the materials   That is up to them You could end up paying them weekly as well as paying for supplies the place never gets done you’re out of the country and you’re screwed
