Fortunately, the Valley has outlasted many of its stereotypes.

From pricey that looks somewhat similar to the midwest to prices that are stereotypical of what you would think west coast prices would be.

For us, it was less about personal consequences, and more about perpetuating better vibes / behaviors through positive feedback when possible.

The difference is that every dollar given to households will get spent immediatley and actually stimulate the economy, which is 70% consumer spening, while most of the corporate dollars will get burried on balance sheets and wall street stock buybacks and never see the light of day again.I start to rethink welfare programs, used to follow the stereotype - once you get over the "It's unfair that I have to work and they get it for free" reaction, it's actually one of the best ways you can increase the velocity of money.

I'm obviously not a NJ resident and have never lived in NJ - but the stereotype is NJ is a very Tenant friendly state.

The DC area has been a perpetual sellers market for 12 years now.  

They are 99 year leases renewable in perpetuity.
