There is more to consider than the average person may understand....especially in Florida where the greatest part of the load on an AC system may actually be humidity (water vapor must be condensed out of the air before the air can be cooled below the dew point).For what it's worth...David J Dachtera

That may have been what the auditor was referring to ("thermostat was wrong") The condenser outside may also not be functioning properly which runs the electric heat more often.
