During the open house we did do an opinion poll of our visitors and everyone absolutely loved the house.

The Rules do not define these terms, and such a hostess should be limited to welcoming the visitors.

Typical vague law, on purpose so government can define and enforce how it likes.So because the HOA forbade me to rent out as a 30-day minimum rental, which I could easily get $5,000+ in the high season and $3,500+ in the low season from mainland visitors (mostly Canadians), and the zoning department did not allow 2 families to live in the same single-family home, I had to move out of the home and would have to rely on long-term rentals from the impoverished local economy.So with the low rent against a high mortgage just made it not worth it at all and I was losing -$700 per month, even with an optimal renter.

YMMV with higher short-term rates but fewer short-term visitors during these months.Also, Airbnb has started collecting hotel/occupancy taxes for Chicago now and I believe such "transient" usage is defined as any stays less than a month.

Don’t go nuts, just track some of these: web page, blog posts, social page views; click through rates (percentage of visitors who clicked on your CTAs); email bounce rates; sources for leads; social followers and friends.

The zoo & airport are indicators that the community is drawing in visitors & residents from outside the area.
