His thinking is this:If we get rid of the property and pay the mortgage loan off and the home equity line of credit off, then we could find a new property for $80,000 either in Redford (the neighborhood he grew up in) or Westland and this will put us in a much better position than dragging our feet to pay off the home equity in five years and live with this much debt all throughout this time.I get what he says, but I have mixed feelings.

I apologize for the mistyping mistake, it was auto correction by my phone, I meander that I was not familiar with probate property.In regards to my due diligence, there is a lot of mixed information about this property, I checked on Zimas and is shows that it is part of The city of Vernon, but the square footage is smaller by almost 2000 sf due to approx. attached vacant lot that shows as a separate lot on Zimas.
