My current goal is to be financially independent by the age of 40.I currently have a $70K stock portfolio that usually does very well, market downturns notwithstanding, plus ~$30K in unvested employee stock options and a continuous employee stock purchase plan.

What people are referring to when they say you need one, can be employees, independent contractors, licensed professional etc. 

If I give up the first time something doesn't work my chances of financial independence are pretty slim.

The FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early)  people are almost 100% focused on stocks/bonds. 

Acord forms are the national standardized form for the independent insurance industry. 

There are audits.

My team took many years to set up with a lot of phone calls and relationship built over time demonstrating that i am an investor that knows the market, self independent, and will close with jobs paid.

Is that commission based or are you an independent contractor?

I’m not sure If I need a workers comp insurance plan or certificate of consent to self-insure considering the only individual who will be working in the house is the cleaning crew, who would be considered an independent contractor.
