Probably the number one recommended real estate book is Robert Kiyosaki "Rich dad, poor dad": its a very easy read, and relays a lifestyle and mindset of an investor. 

I'm also a member of Lifestyles Unlimited although I must say I know very little about them so far.

I am currently selling my time to an employer but am hoping to change a lifestyle so that I may retire someday.

basically its a lifestyle.. if you embrace it as such then you can do very well.

Important items to note:Need a licensed/bonded General ContractorKeep it simple use a GC - do not need to coordinate yourself and gather individual estimatesYou want to make sure they have a verifiable track record working with this productFinancial Capacity is important as you want someone who can fund and carry the project to enhance your speed and efficiency.

I looked at Lifestyles Unlimited, then looked for my local REIA's and then I stumbled upon BP.

There is a good chance they will move out on their own when they realize they can't live the lifestyle they desire on your property.
