For small and specific jobs, fiverr.com has been very useful to me (mostly for web design stuff and/or social media projects).

Do try the schools for doing listings. the off campus housing office on their web site usually has some information and you can see the other listings for free.

@Ned Carey I think the fundamental issue is that there is so much information just a click away that everyone in the courthouse steps bizz be it foreclosures tax sales etc.. will have to learn to live with this competition...For us in Oregon we had it pretty good in the FCL bizz up until the trustee's started putting everything on the web.. at that point you had stay at home mothers showing up at the trustee sales with baby in tow and 200k cashiers check :)...

Oh these properties all nationwide, but I look only at OH, PA, NY, WV and yes if possible I would take rural properties.If you wish I can send you the web address.

In real estate magazines I think the impression is if the price is not listed then it's too high.
