Some drawings and quick calculations usually have these violations cleared up in a couple of weeks as they get processed through the building department.some more complicated code violations like illegal additions can still be fixed but they require more drawings and work and tend to take about 3 months, however, once these additions are legalized the value of the home goes up so it's usually worth it.
