When I first came up to Sacramento had a landlord tell me that they were taking all of my deposit because the house was not clean to there standards, so they had to reclean the property.

All I can say is that for us nervous types it gets easier over time.

I heard you can clean the mold with bleach.

I addition to the great input provided, one practice that that I put in place that yielded great dividends (rent getting paid) was as soon at the rent was late I would schedule a "safe and clean" inspection so that I had a reason to get into the property and remind the tenant(s) that I was not going away.

I wish I would have known what I know now at 17, life would be a lot easier.
