Well when the tenant vacates that is normally the highest reason a landlord is involved in litigation.

This should show you what mortgages he/she has out on the property as well as what kind of court issues, including foreclosure, he/she is dealing with.The third link should actually take you into the actual foreclosure civil case site.  

The note would be backed up by his condo, which I haven't been able to see the inside of because it is currently in litigation.

Financially, each route is equally as terrifying, but I truly believe that, in time, RE investing would be much more satisfying, less worrisome, and less litigious than medicine (not implying in ANY way that there is no worry or litigation in RE...but that it is of a MUCH different caliber).

They have an option for civil cases, then under that option you choose Evictions and then set your search parameters.
