Are they professionals who show up when and where they're supposed to and need little or no hand holding, or overworked handymen who need help closing a door on their own?

Different strokes for different folks I suppose. 

My guess is either (1) there is something else wrong with the foundation or (2) the lender has a proprietary policy against wood foundations.In the case of a "dirt" foundation, I'm not sure what that's supposed to be.
