Hi BPCan anyone recommend a reliable Home Inspector/GC in Newark, NJ area??

Hi BP,can some one refer me to a Property Inspector who does a great job?

Also, looking to get a home inspector to inspect it before signing the contract.  

Did your inspector call out any foundation issues because really good inspectors can often be helpful since they see hundreds of houses a year. 

Why not move in and take some time to figure out the property, fix the things that go wrong your first week that the inspector didn't see, and keep collecting rent even if it is below market.  

Just make sure you do your due diligence (particularly with a good home inspector) so you don't miss any latent defects in key systems.

With foreclosures check the right to redemption time ( very rare for this to be enforced by the foreclosed on party, and in almost all cases they would have to pay added fees).And of course always have a strong inspection contigency that buys you enough time to get not just the inspector in there, but any and all contractors to give you quotes since many foreclosures are sold "As IS".

It has been and exhausting process with many people working on these offer; mortgage broker, layer, inspector.

Hello all- I'd appreciate a referral to a reliable licensed Inspector for a 2-Flat (Duplex) I am working to purchase in the South Chicago area.  

That said, I'll still bring in specialty contractors/engineers when there's something beyond my level of knowledge -- but never a general inspector.
