They are out of Canada which means my credit card dings me a couple extra bucks for a 'foreign transaction', but that's covered in the fee I charge.If anyone knows of other screening services that charge by the request I'd like to know so I can do some comparisons.

Cara,Thanks for your response, and I think that your point about timing and availability of information is well taken, but I find it hard to believe that the concepts of leverage and investing and rental properties were completely foreign to the populous in the 90's. 

Your post makes me curious about BC as I don't know much about the area, aside from crazy high prices and lots of foreign investors.  

Here's what I am looking for:1) The top 3 highest rental yield areas to narrow my focus in on2) Lenders who will lend based on foreign income at rates which are comparable to US residents

The returns may not be equal on paper, but once you actually purchase the property, you will quickly realize that it was not worth buying a duplex in a state/city that is far and foreign from you. 

I want to be able to travel, inbed myself in some foreign cultures... a deeper look than tourism.
