Yeah, there'll be up to 4% in transfer taxes in PA to the county, but you'll establish a depreciable basis and won't get into gift tax territory for your dad.

Outside of that, the Waynesboro/Greencastle area is solid but the population and job markets is much lower than that of Hagerstown/Washington County.Thurmont is more backwoods and there are rumors that there is a strong racist group presence in the area (just rumors though).

I've seen many agents brand their names (johnsmithrealtor.com), but I suppose my preference is to keep my company name and logo (since my website and social media presence are all done).

I was a single parent and didn't want to have my children pioneering in uncharted territory and was concerned about the influences as I mentioned above.I believe they require you to be currently employed in the neighborhood school or perhaps a Title 1 school.Best wishes on your endeavors!
