Is it for the down the road payoff when you retire?

Anonymity is near impossible, so the best hope is putting up small road blocks to make it harder for someone to find you. 

There are a bunch of cowboys from all over the country (and Canada) staying just down the road.

Infrastructure can include things such as bridges, roads, utilities, ports, etc. and are what help people connect while also allowing our economy to progress and prosper.

In all cases, barbed wire is never acceptable as horse fencing, the pastures/turnouts/arenas need to be as rock free as humanly possible, and ideally the whole place is cross-fenced so that if/when Houdini makes his escape, he doesn't make it to the road (or highway!).

I always thought a slow and steady increase would be better then an abrupt increase 2-4 years down the road. 

I can see the road to my destination, it's just going to take a few years of baby steps to get to that point

We met there and he told me “well, your property is fine - the complaint was about that vacant land a quarter of a mile down the road, but they didn’t have a house number, so we just cited the one closest to it”.
