Fishy is indeed the right call, do an immediate inspection.As far as them refusing to sign a new lease, I would be advertising the place and once a new tenant is found, I would give them their thirty day notice if all else checks out.Craigslist is calling ..

It looks great and in this "green" era we are in right now you can advertise it as being eco-friendly.The only time I would not reccomend it would be for a rental because it is soft and scratches easily.

Perhaps also consider advertising it as an executive home for sale or long term lease - something with less of an initial commitment, then negotiate for a later sale while accepting cash flow from it.Otherwise, not sure how to salvage this one ...
