Could just make up that he received repeated complaints about loud music or whatever from lot # 42 and 44, while your on lot #43, even to police (which mobile home park owners are usually well in kahotz with).

I also did a 1031 back in 2007.While others on here talk about "deferring" taxes, you can actually avoid taxes if you let the properties you buy in a 1031 go to your descendents as the property gets a whole new basis.

I would have to agree with Marcus Auerbach though that any system will do little to deter a quick smash and grab by local hoodlums because they will be gone long before police arrive.
