It's a pretty lake, not very big and created by a dam, but it stay full most of the time versus a lot of other lakes down here that the TVA lower pretty far in the winter & spring to contain flooding.

The idea here is to pay off the principal of the $700,000 over the four period then when I get a loan for the remainder $550,000 it would be more affordable.

A lot of people are fearful right now.I'm just over the hill in Reno, NV and chose to live and invest here because our property taxes do not reassess on the sale, landlord/tenant laws are much more favorable, and there is steady job and population growth, but we're still very close to the benefits of CA. 

Granted MFH are more common in rougher parts of central jersey and my purchasing power can't acquire me something in North Jersey here homes are much more desirable when it comes to appreciation and schools and safety.

Get a break here and there on  repairs absolutely.
