I have installed a few.

I install vinyl plank because water does not harm it. 

If you are owner-financing this, then it will be considered an installment sale on your taxes.

At best I install some outlets, replace lights and have been known to install boxes and rough in for my electrician.

I'd like to hear some guesses or first-hand accounts of how much it costs to install HVAC and ductwork in a house that currently only has radiator heat.  

We're thinking of going with decent carpet tiles for a number of reasons: no hidden costs, no installation costs, if they get destroyed we don't have to replace the whole carpet, and they're a 'green' product (which is a big deal in our market). 

In the case that they needed materials ahead of time (like fixtures, outlets, etc), I ended up purchasing the materials myself and asking the subcontractors to install them.

Essentially, they teach you to have a mix of installment and revolving credit (i.e. a loan that has an end date vs one that stays open indefinitely) and to keep balances active, but low.

I bought some (shop carefully) that I was sure was up to code and installed on my bath window.
