Question:Do you use a smart lock to monitor access to shared spaces or utility areas of the property to avoid persistent use but allow access by tenants?

I was wondering and needing some tips on what i could possibly develop on it but I’m not sure if it’s enough space to maybe do a few retail shops or a small strip center with enough parking.

@Lamont Marable check your local building and fire codes...putting living space below grade carries a lot of life-safety requirements and needs to be permitted...worst case...if there is a fire and tenants cannot escape...and you knowingly put living space below grade without the required safeguards in place...RE investing career over...Just do it right if you venture down that path...hiring an architect is always the best approach to something like thisBest of luck

All that industrial space isn't highest and best use and so long term I could see more zoning changes and possible growth.In the end though, this going to be your primary residence and so I would pull the trigger in a neighborhood and building where you really want to live.

I could live in the space while I fixed it and I love a good project.

Potentially it makes it easier to rent 2-3 bedroom units because people want extra space for office.
