Hi all,A group of friends and I are looking to invest because individually none of us have the funds to make the investment on our own, so we are putting out money together to make the investment.The question is do we need to set up an LLC or LLP in order to do this?

Really depends on whether or not you actually held title to an individual asset which if you are exiting a REIT the funds likely won’t be eligible for a 1031.
