and that along with the war.. put the bay area into a very bad recession for about 3 to 4 years.. high end properties in the most tony areas fell 50%  My brother in law in 90 bought a 4500 sq ft home on an acre in Los Altos hills for 1.2 million.. 2 years before it had sold for 2.2  and today he still lives there and I suspect its worth 5 to 6 mil easy. 

Everybody and their brother are here in town trying to do the same thing..

How can I pull out equity, if my 50% partner, (Brother), refuses to agree on selling, allowing me to buy him out, or signing off on me borrowing any equity.Can I borrow any equity, even though I own half ?

@George Despotopoulos Well my father has realestate in another country and the experience that I have in real estate is managing my brothers 3 flat here in chicago and also helping my dad lease out and rehab his property in mexico.
