One thing, I am struggling on is that when purchasing homes from on MLS, I never know how much I should ask below the asking price.

Now I'll give you a funny:The maintenance man called me to tell me that while patching roofing on one building he looked over and saw someone had installed a full size pool with pump and filter on the top of a 3 story flat tar roof building directly adjacent.

Richard & Craig,Perhaps you are not receiving my point or perhaps the terms are being confused.I would agree that there would be a "cost" if your return was below what you could have received in a CD.

Of course when I sell, I use the top comp and then list below that market value dollar to increase chances of quick sale.

I predict the DOW will go below 8000 very soon.

While it may be that it goes below that as some of you are suggesting, I hope for everyone's sake (401k's, retirerees, etc) that it does not.
