You wouldn't just hand a wad of cash to a guy to go down to the car dealer and pick you out a car; you'd visit the dealership, hopefully test drive the car, look up the values in Kelly Blue book, maybe let your mechanic look it over, make sure they gave you a valid title without liens, etc.

There is simply far too much variability person to person and you may end up with a local PM who is really good at what they do OR one that is really connected OR one that pays people to refer you to them . . . and there's really no good way to tell until you've gone a few rounds with them.Best case scenario: have two homes in the same market and test them, one under each PM paradigm, and see how you like the operations and returns after 3-4 years.
