Their "investment" is in fact a loser.Nevertheless, many folks end up being in retirement, have a paid off house and little or nothing in the bank.

Your strategy is fine and if you execute it you probably will retire wealthy.

I retire from the military in about 4 years and will look for an apartment complex or a hotel.
