The basic fiberglass surrounds they have at HD or Lowes, generally.And Steve, regarding the "12mm" on the vinyl, that was a brain fart. 12mm is the thickness of the laminate we used in a recent job.

When you look at how many rehab or are on bigger pocket, and of those how many are looking for financing I can understand your concern on doing a rehab.J Scott also makes a very good point.If you can find someone you are comfortable with as a contractor, pick his brain.

The house is in a great spot, and could be a nice rental or flip sale.I'd like to pick the brains here to find out: the pitfalls of picking up an auction house, am I in over my head (never done a rehab), how do I determine all of the finacial liabilities of the property prior to bidding?

I think if your just learning, it wouldnt hurt to get more knowledge of the rehab side of the business and puck the contractors brain as much as possible.

He told me it is going to be a disaster beyond anything he has every seen by the time everything stops.I am not certain one way or the other but his words reverberate through my brain daily, especially when I read posts like yours.Clearly in CA - LA and OC have a long way down to still drop - I would be cautious making anything but short term investments in those markets.
