Indeed, some of the oldest properties in New York and places like it are the most expensive.You do need to be more concerned about things like foundation issues, galvanized plumbing, knob and tube wiring, etc.

Encryption is irrelevant and unnecessary.In 18yrs, I've only had less than a handful of applicants object to the SSN request based upon concerns for ID theft (actually bright people and informed on the issue), but FAXing removes the exposure to hacking to get it.

My 2 biggest concerns are having enough money stashed away to survive while we get a business going, (although I would not have a problem with picking up a cashiers job somewhere so we would have health insurance) and the financing to buy the business.

The house has been abandoned for 12 years and MAY need to be demolished, not sure. ( I am told that in that case it changes the scenario and then I would only be concerned with the land and the cost of demolition ) How do I get the value of the property.
