You could build up some experience, and a good amount of cash flow and reserves in a more forgiving market.If you still want to invest in NYC, I would suggest attending some of the local REIAs and networking with current landlords to get a feel for how they run their rentals, and what their issues with tenants are, and how they deal with them.Good luck in your foray into buy & hold investing!

You need to attend some seminars on Wholesale property training before you go out and look for property.You're not ready to deal with a real transaction yet until you see one in action and takes notes on how it's done without violating real estate law.When you wholesale correctly you never actually buy the property until you know exactly who you will sell it to first.You need to learn about creating a huge list of cash buyers who are ready,willing,and financially able to buy your new found property immediately.
