They claim the properties are listed as vacant land on the county assessor's data roll but when I pull the lists from the county, it's clearly occupied by some type of building.

It was a poor move placing them in this unit but that's neither here nor there as you are where you are now with them occupying the unit.Or best case, Mom doesn't want to move so she pony's up and takes care of the rent on her own.

@Jacob Willett with 3.5% down it’s going to have to be owner occupied for at least a year so your going to need income to cover those payments.

Im not trying to scare you or anything like that, I have over 50 tenants occupying a commercial building and thank god that most are paying, but some HAVE stopped paying and i have sought legal aid by an attorney which I paid over $3000 for eviction and between his fees and my loss of rental income Im over $18k in the hole.
