If you can have stone then that's all you need, although asphalt is easier to clean at winter, in areas that have snow. as far as getting the size of the driveway, you will not find that information on any of the real estate sites, you either have to go there as you say or you can look on line for a GIS mapping system for the area you are looking to purchase, you can usually get a satellite view and they have tools that you can take an estimated measurement with. try this one: https://www.arcgis.com/home/index.html

Not sure if I can be much of help to him plus I think he doesn't have the money to dish out for repairs so I don't think going retail would work and with little to no equity I'm not sure how I could wholesale.
