Northern Alberta, where to start!?
Good afternoon everyone,
I'm 26 years old, living in Fort McMurray, AB and am keen on getting myself involved in real estate.
I don't have any experience in the field besides what I've listened to on BP podcasts, but am willing to put in the time and effort. I'm just not sure where to start. I am newly self-employed (1 year) with the business making approximately $250k annually and me personally having $50k to invest as of right now, with no debt. I've been told McMurray's real estate market isn't good to invest in because it's so oil dependent and given how hard it crashed a few years ago, I could believe it. How do I decide on the proper city or community to invest in, and what other advice do you have for a newbie like myself just trying to break into the real estate business? Thanks in advance!

Hi Matt.
Last year I purchased my first investment near Ottawa but lived in BC. I took a trip there for closing and to find a tenant. There are many great realtors on here that can help you find a place. Take a look at the numbers in Windsor, Ont.
