Thanks all, if i ever use a contractor again and every time i SUBcontract (when am a contractor)  will ALWAYS get their insurance certificate and/or policy # and call to verify active coverage.now i'm paranoid what if if my contracto or subcontractor's insurance lapses over the months while the contractor is performing work - how often is enuf to check that the contractor or subcontractor's insurance hasn't lapsed during the timeline of their work?

I also had a lapse in work about from mid 2012-thru to start of 2014 because I wouldn't sign a no-compete clause, but now have been working extra cause nobody else can do the work cause they had signed that contract.

She is making countless demands, such as: we need to be leaving within this month, you cannot keep us paying for a place we don't want, we will NOT be living here when workers come in,  we will NOT put our son's life in danger from paint fumes (do not even get me started on that), and when I told her that the lease is legally binding, she said it wasn't because we allowed a lapse a few months back.
