Hello everyone: I currently own a long term rental duplex in Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada, which is cottage country and about 20,000 population normally.

Fingers crossed it stays that way!

NYC is one of the worse cities in the country for landlords.

There should be criminal laws in place to penalize those who cross the line and do outrageous things.

Oakland scares me, considering renting out my home if I decide to leave the USA for a lower cost of living country in the future, although I know a few people who bought in 2008 renting their homes out in Oakland and doing well. 

Self storage and country subdivision lots.  

Orlando is not like the rest of the country where you can have a cabin in the woods or a treehouse and be unique..we are built for 75 Million visitors a year and they all need accommodations.Most of the more successful units are larger and have fantastic themed rooms/garages etc.

I am a firm believer that you have to live there and offset your prop tax's with zero income tax and of course be a local and self manage. then to me its like any other market in the country basically..
