I've seen them go wrong before and really just be a breakeven affair.

Until that initial promulgation from the Department of Veterans Affairs comes out, no one is doing a VA loan that would only work according to their own particular interpretation of the new law.

I'll echo the others above- definitely get your financial affairs in order and pay off your debt before buying your first property.  

As I understand it Dementia is a broad term that means many things but doesn’t mean a person isn’t capable of handling their own affairs.

Check the Department of Consumer Affairs for both; they have links and have a detailed page outlining exactly what you need in addition to the fee's you will need to pay.Nassau makes it extremely difficult; you must be able to validate past experience and they question EVERYTHING.Suffolk is easier; fill out information, take a test and that's it.NYC same as above.

It's a sad state of affairs but this may be one.

Don’t jump around job to job and for Pete’s sake , stop buying crap you don’t need and why are you buying dad a house when your own affairs at home are out of wack ?
