There is a commercial property in my area i have been doing research on because i am interested in purchasing it, however the owner is known for being high on his prices and borderline dishonest with his valuation.

The inexperienced, unknown;ledgable, as well as the dishonest, or misleading wholesalers, which I am afraid represent the majority out their, can and do great financial damage to home owners often in desperate situations who can ill afford to incur losses.  

Therefore, buying for a discount should not be viewed as being inherently dishonest. 

It started out difficult but that was because we had partnered with a very dishonest organization, in our opinion.

Simply state what he said he would do, what he didn't and how much money you gave him.You could always make a 'Dishonest Contractors of Jersey City' FB page and put your complaint and their name/LLC. 

You see... you're not being dishonest just following the letter of the law.

Maybe we should contact the national newspapers.I know a few investors that buy completely destroyed houses, work day and night rehabbing them, deal with all the permits needed, engage with often lazy and dishonest construction workers... performing many other mentally, emotionally and physically difficult tasks.
