The irony with this"fear of disturbing the neighborhood" nonsense is that hundreds of folks are already doing STR locally and no one realizes it!

I'm an "unborn" investor and one of the biggest fears I have is buying a money pit.

Why not blend all of your ideas together, you say you fear house-hacking because of job stability/tenants so why not rent the rooms in the mobile home out to college students who don't care that they are in a mobile home and they will likely more than pay the payment on the mobile home (if you can get a loan to purchase it).

At first, I️ was afraid the broker would hog all the good deals and when I️ shared my fear he explained he can’t buy everything which makes perfect sense to me.

I'd suggest being yourself, real, open and honest about your goals and fears and maybe ask if you can run a question by them.

Fear of action would be the number one issue for most newbie investors in my opinion. 

The issue I currently face is that I have only a couple thousand in savings and fear that I will not be able to get a loan for rental.

@Taylor Matthews it sounds like you are working through a "fear" barrier. 

I was actually listening to the podcast this morning and they brought up the fear that comes along with taking those calls. 

How did you overcome the fear of failure and take that big step?
