I have no real knowledge but I would be surprised if the Lansing area is still depressed given it is a big college town.I've not heard of anyone that had the banks actually go after them for the deficiency.

It is next to the state college in city center.I used my equity of the 1st deal to purchase the property. 

We use them and I like them to a degree.

I am currently in college and I have parents and grandparents that may or may not want (they are "iffy") to invest in real estate and of course they are not wanting to take the time to go out and look for an amazing deal.

Many people see Bloomington as a college town but this area is far from campus and provides a much different renter than you would find in other areas closer to campus, downtown, or the east side of town.

I'm going to live in one unit and rent another one.I have a bunch of questions.1) Duplex is near college and I believe alot of interest to rent unit will come from college.

I'm buying a house in Columbus, GA to use as a student rental, but the first student in it will be my college-age son. 

Again, I'm not familiar with the area so if there's a college town nearby or an up and coming town would be ideal.
