I think you can find success either way, you just need to find what works best for you.  

With that being said, do you all recommend a newbie like myself first learn the intricacies and math behind successfully flipping properties before learning the intricacies of wholesaling including marketing?

I was able to successfully register my 2nd LLC with the CA, as mentioned, and was re-directed by them to file the LLC-12 which will state all the members.   

Skimp in these areas and hinder your success in the flip biz.
