If i may ask, did you move to the USA and then invest in properties, or did you still live in Sweden and invest in American property?

American banks aren't all that interested because if something goes wrong, they have to chase me in Canada.

Some of the house brands like Chicago Title, First American, Old Republic, etc are either owned by or own stand alone Intermediary firms. 

My dad started his real estate carrer in the mid 60s selling land in Santa Cruz county.up b loch Lomand lake.. there was the trout farm inn  not sure if its still there.where did you live in Cupertino.. we lived off of Blaney and Bolinger behind all American market  LOL

An increasing number of North Americans are retiring to Mexico and that's likely to accelerate.

I've personally used First American before and was pleased with their services. 

Lots of Americans go there too.

And my wife is from the UK, so I speak both American and British English!
