We use RentRedi to manage all docs and tenant interaction.

First, it's important to maintain clear communication with your tenant and document all interactions in case any legal issues arise in the future.

These require more of a personal interaction and deeper digging that involves websites like OpenCorporates or the Secretary of State websites.There are some skip tracers that can do this. 

Private Money Lender relationships should be based on favorable terms that are not extraordinary and excessive, but rather fair and reasonable for all parties.  

To me -- a person who likes other humans only so much -- the idea of house hacking with a rent-by-the-room strategy is too much interaction.

Definitely an annoying part of my interaction with StayFi so far.

I've found that creating posts and being super interactive on BiggerPockets has opened up tons of opportunities for me.

@Ben Leybovich feisty aren't we...hope you don't have this type of interaction with your investors as I would be confused.

(Flippers will disagree with this statement... and they have a skillset that you probably lack, so they aren't wrong for them, but are wrong for you as a FTHB with no real estate experience.)If you're only going to be living there for a year, and want to get your feet wet with REI, go see what weekend part time job openings a local property management company has that'll have you interacting with tenants.
